Help us raise awareness

Take part in Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week 2025!

Campaign dates: 17TH NOVEMBER- 23RD NOVEMBER 2025

Between the 17th November and 23rd November 2025, we will be raising awareness of Carbon Monoxide. Stay safe this winter.

Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that cannot be detected by human senses. Basic household appliances such as barbeques, patio heaters, gas cookers, boilers, stoves and fireplaces can all produce carbon monoxide. Luckily, there are some simple steps you can take to stay safe, and help is at hand - if you suspect carbon monoxide, call 0800 111 999.

Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week is the perfect time to refresh your knowledge and join the campaign to raise awareness! Follow #CarbonMonoxideAwarenessWeek on socials for updates.

The Pack Safe Appeal was born out of a tragic and avoidable accident.

Hudson Foley died 2 years ago at just 24 years of age while he was travelling overseas from carbon monoxide poisoning in a homestay accommodation in Ecuador.

His mother, Cathy Foley, launched the appeal to raise awareness of Carbon Monoxide poisoning and encourage travellers, especially young backpackers, to carry a CO alarm. The campaign also urges the travel industry to ensure Carbon Monoxide safety in all accommodations.

The safest way to protect yourself from carbon monoxide poisoning is to pack a carbon monoxide alarm. They are light, portable and can fit in a backpack or carry-on. And you can buy one for less than £20.
